On June 9, 2024, the Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC) organized a Women’s Rights Training attended by over 16 participants with the support of New Myanmar Foundation (NMF). The training aimed to empower women by deepening their understanding of their rights and equipping them with advocacy tools. It covered fundamental human rights concepts specific to women, legal rights concerning domestic violence, workplace discrimination, and sexual harassment, and strategies for economic empowerment through financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions including presentations, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing activities to apply their learnings practically. As a result, participants reported increased awareness, knowledge of legal protections, and enhanced skills in challenging gender discrimination and advocating effectively. The training successfully fostered a supportive network among participants, ensuring they can continue supporting each other in upholding their rights and promoting gender equality.
