Video Clip on Record of Protests Against the Military (February 2024)

Following the military’s illegitimate seizure of power, citizens of Myanmar have persistently voiced their opposition through various forms of protest. The military junta has responded with severe repression, including arrests, imprisonment, torture, and even lethal force against demonstrators. Despite enduring over two years of this oppressive regime, people throughout Myanmar, across all provinces, continue to protest vigorously against the coup and the authoritarian rule.

In February 2024, the Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC), Magway Region Human Rights Network (MHRN), and Youth Empowerment (YE) released a detailed video report documenting the protests against the military council’s violent actions and unjust rule. This report was compiled from information gathered through news sources and data collectors with access to various regions. It is acknowledged that some protests may go unreported, and the actual number of demonstrations against the military council could be higher than indicated in this report.

This video report highlights the enduring determination and unwavering spirit of the Myanmar people in their ongoing struggle for justice and democracy.
