Video Clip on Record of Protests Against the Military (April 2024)

Since the military’s illegal takeover, the people of Myanmar have consistently demonstrated their resistance through various forms of protest. The junta’s response has been marked by severe repression, including widespread arrests, imprisonment, torture, and even deadly force against protesters. Despite over two years of enduring this harsh regime, people across Myanmar continue their robust resistance against the coup and the authoritarian rule.

In April 2024, the Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC), Magway Region Human Rights Network (MHRN), and Youth Empowerment (YE) released a comprehensive video report documenting the protests against the military council’s brutal actions and unjust governance. This report is compiled from data provided by news outlets and field collectors with regional access. It is recognized that some protests might not be included, and the actual number of demonstrations against the military council could exceed what is reported here.

This video report highlights the steadfast resolve and resilience of the Myanmar people as they continue their relentless pursuit of justice and democracy.
