Report Video on Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) due to Military’s violations in January, 2024
Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC), Magway Region Human Rights Network (MHRN), and Youth Empowerment (YE) have jointly released a video report highlighting the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Myanmar, stemming from the military’s violations in January 2024.
Since the illegal seizure of power by the military, various states and regions in Myanmar have witnessed widespread human rights violations. These violations have forced a substantial number of people to flee their homes, with the Sagaing Division being particularly affected. The accompanying chart in the video illustrates the recorded instances of displacement due to human rights abuses by the terrorist military group in January 2024.
This report is compiled based on information from human rights activists on the ground and news media. As such, there may be discrepancies, and the actual number of displaced individuals could be higher.
