Conducting Day to Raise Awareness about Violence Against Women Living with HIV/AIDS
On November 26, 2024, the Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC) and partner orgnizations conducted an online awareness campaign to highlight the violence faced by women living with HIV/AIDS. The session, attended by 21 participants including CRSV members, focused on the compounded challenges of these women, particularly the stigma, discrimination, and lack of access to healthcare they face in both community and prison settings.
The discussion emphasized the need for improved healthcare access, legal protections, and community awareness to combat violence and systemic neglect. Participants also stressed the importance of advocacy campaigns to challenge stigma and amplify the voices of women living with HIV/AIDS. The campaign concluded with a call for increased collaboration to promote the rights, healthcare, and safety of these women.
