On January 31, 2023, the New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) and Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC) conducted the Gender-Based Violence and Fair Trial Rights Awareness training (Batch 1) from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Out of 163 applicants from diverse backgrounds, including activists, Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), and party members, 20 participants were selected for Batch(1) and the other 27 persons were selected for the Batch (2).

The session began with participant introductions, followed by an overview of the training contents. Participants then took pre-tests to assess their initial understanding. The training covered various topics, including an introduction to Myanmar’s laws and their implications, the concept of Fair Trial Rights, and an in-depth discussion on Gender-Based Violence. The session concluded with participants taking post-tests to measure the knowledge gained. This comprehensive agenda aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of legal rights and gender-based violence issues, empowering them to advocate for fair trials and combat gender-based violence effectively.
