Video Clip on Record of Protests Against the Military (March 2024)

Since the military’s unlawful seizure of power, the people of Myanmar have continuously expressed their dissent through various forms of protest. The junta’s reaction has been marked by harsh repression, including arrests, imprisonment, torture, and even the use of lethal force against demonstrators. Despite more than two years under this oppressive regime, citizens across Myanmar, in all provinces, persist in their vigorous protests against the coup and authoritarian rule.

In March 2024, the Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC), Magway Region Human Rights Network (MHRN), and Youth Empowerment (YE) released an in-depth video report documenting the protests against the military council’s violent actions and unjust rule. This report is based on information sourced from news outlets and data collectors with access to various regions. It is acknowledged that some protests may not be reported, and the actual number of demonstrations against the military council could be higher than reflected in this report.

This video report underscores the unwavering determination and resilience of the Myanmar people in their ongoing fight for justice and democracy.
